The Brass Teapot
The story starts off in an unknown setting, where an old woman who looks like
she's been through a lot gives the main characters of the story, husband and wife John and Alice a
brass kettle. The reasoning behind her giving the
kettle to them was not explained at the beginning of the story. The couple had
just come back from visiting their daughter, who was a money-sucking college student. From their
daughter and another child of theirs both being in college at the same time, it
is getting difficult for John and Alice to even make ends meet. After given the
kettle, John accidently jams Alice's finger in the
trunk door. To their suprise, when they went and looked at the
kettle there were 5 quarters in there, which they just
shrugged off.
